What is Physical Education?

This course is designed to convey knowledge and concepts of physical education.  There are several aspects to physical education, and this module will explore many of these concepts.  After completing this first module, you will have a greater understanding of what physical education is and why it is important.

Assignment 1.01 

Read the article "Healthy Bodies, Minds, and Buildings: The New Physical Education" by Leslie T. by Lambert.

  1. Name 4 health benefits of regular physical activity.

  2. Physical inactivity can lead to what negative health consequences?

  3. What are the qualities of a well physically educated person?

  4. List activities that promote learning at each of the following levels:

  • Elementary

  • Junior High School

  • High School

Type your answers in a Microsoft Word document and submit this assignment to your teacher.
