Assignment 6.05 - Groups and the War Effort

This is NOT a History Journal (HJ) assignment.  Do not add it to your History Journal.

  • Write a brief journal for each of the above individuals.   You will have a total of 5 brief journals (this should be ONE Word document but start each new individual at the top of a page).  Each journal should have 3 entries.  These can be consecutive days or cover days that are spread out over time.  Each entry needs to be approximately one paragraph.  Be sure to include places and events in your entry as well as the date of the entry.  Finally, make sure that each journal entry includes some personal reaction from the perspective of the person that is writing the journal entry.  Identify which group belongs to which journal entry.

Your Journal could look something like this…

Rosie Jones ~

November 12, 1943 – Today I started my new job at the Allied Steel Plant….

January 15, 1944 – Received a letter from my darling John in the Pacific…

Barney Smith~

October 19, 1944 – What an opportunity!  A black pilot…

December 17, 1944 – Will they actually let us fly in combat?…
