MODULE 9 OVERVIEW

In March 1946, Winston Churchill, speaking at a college in Fulton, Missouri, warned:  “From Stettin in the Baltic to Trieste in the Adriatic, an iron curtain has descended across the continent.”  The United States, which had emerged from World War II as the strongest of the Western Allies, was extremely concerned about Soviet expansion in Eastern Europe.  The struggle waged between Americans and their allies against the Russians and Communist forces over the globe.  This struggle was known as the Cold War and lasted from 1946 until the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.  The Cold War dominated World History during this time period.

The assignments in this module require you to use a very good website from the United Kingdom
